F-15 Strike Eagle Ver. I
This is my scratchbuilt F-15 eagle Ver. I. Went for simple and quick on this build. Designed using Google Sketch-up. Made from Dollartree foamboard. Powered by a Grayson Hobby Super Megajet V2, A 40amp esc from Grayson, a 5amp BEC, 4 metal gear servos, and a 2200mah 40C lipo. Has two flight modes, a more tame version, using only the elevators as stabilators, and a more acrobatic mode, mixing the ailerons in with the stabilators. Flew great, just wanted a slightly more scale appearance...
F-15 Strike Eagle Ver. II
For Ver. II, I sanded and rounded all leading and trailing edges, including the prop cut-out, and intakes. Sanded and rounded the nosecone. Dropped the leading top edge of the intakes slightly to resemble the actual plane. Added LED landing and navigation lights. Made a detachable fuel pod and missle rack.
Went all out on this one... Made my own homemade vacuum former, then cut and sanded a mold to create a clear canopy. Made a pilot, cockpit and HUD from foamboard, dowel rods, a piece of electrical wire, paint and sharpies.
Next it was time to finally paint! As per request of my fellow wingman, Falchion, I went with our G.S.A. Flight Squadron color scheme; red, black, and yellow. Masked and sprayed the red and black using Testor's foam safe spray paint. Hand painted the yellow for the final touch... Flies great, couldn't be happier with how this one came out. Thanks for checking it out, and please let me know what you guys think.
