FT Blunt Versa Wing

Here is my blunt versa wing!

It flies very smooth and with that power set I get even more than 1hour flight time!

I have used one sheet of 6mm depron. I have covered the lower part of the wing with covering film in order to reinforce the depron. Only the bottom part of a wing needs to be covered as the upper part is in compression and the film would not bring any structural improvement there. I have also reinforced the main section bottom with a 3mm ply wood plate to hold firmly the 3300mAh battery and the motor mount. The battery is completely at the front in the wing in order to have the CG set. My first motor mount flew away at my first, not bad, landing with the depron holding it. So this is also a reason to reinforce the structure to carry it.

And here's a small video of my flying wing in the air.

I have now put my FPV setup on it, I hope to be able to try it in the next few days!

Hi there. First of all: nice build!
I am really surprised by the flighttime. I've build a blunt nose versa too and I'm intressted in which setup you used ( Motor and prop) because I'm affraid I have not enough power. Btw, flying with 2 x 3s1800 in parallel to get CG right.

As in the end of the video described, motor is an old Towerpro BM2410-09 840kV with a 9x6E propeller and a 20A ESC. The power setup is not very powerfull, but very efficient. As you can see it also has with this setup a limited flight speed range. Between cruise power and full power there might be 10km/h of difference maybe. But it climbs enough for me and for my purpose is that setup efficient enough.
I made also some tests with foldable 9x5 prop and a NTM 2826 1200kV, but the motor itself caused a lot of vibration and the propeller as well. The flight time was a bit shorter but the noise due to the vibrations was giving me some fear for the structure lifetime, so I went back to the first setup.

I was myself very surprised. I wanted to fly it with 3S 2200mAh but for CG reason I needed the 3300mAh. After the first flight, about 17min of flight I made an extrapolation to guess the flight time using 80% of the battery and got 45min. So next flight I flew 42min altogether and by charging I noticed that I was not at the 80% expected so could be even more, extrapolated was 1h7min I think. I don't need 1 hour endurance, but will fly it now with FPV equipement and review the total autonomy.
