I love the podcast guys! I feel like the more open format is the way to go. David I feel the pain of your flight experience! I live in Georgia and we have been shut down for the last couple days.
I was suprised to hear about Ramz' micro quad and was inspired to make my own. (Might send you guys it if it ends well to see what you think)
Anyways keep up the good work!

Hey guys, you were talking about micro fpv, I recently found a micro FPV quad and am waiting for it in the mail, it is called the Hubsan x4 H107D (videos available on YouTube) and will be my first ever FPV anything. I suggest you check it out it seems really cool and is one of the first on the market. I have read in some forums that you can get it to link to a fatshark for fpv instead of using the lcd transmitter screen, Also Walkera makes one called the Ladybird Qr fpv v2 with A devo transmitter.

Love the Show, keep up the good work!

Yes, I came across these too. Personally I rejected them because they look really hard to control, unstable, twitchy etc. It seemed to me that it would be hard going until they become a lot steadier. Bruce at RCReviews NZ seemed to manage the best with the Walkera Ladybird.

Hi guys!!

I've been into plane construction (balsa scratchbuild) for many many years, but not much flying unfortunately. I have been given 2 Walkera CB100 and I am totally lost with them! I have a little experience with indoor IR coaxials (very little, as my cat doesn't let them live long), and I was wondering if you was thinking about doing a beginners guide to helicopters like you have for the aeroplanes!!

Keep up the good work!!

I decided to remove my prior comment about "grouches" I'll just say you are right on the money about the problem as well as the flying field issue. Bravo.

Re: Pulse Jets
We can't (err... should not) fly high enough ... but if you see a contrail that looks like it has "beads" on it.. That's a Slow cycling Pulse Jet that caused it.

Hello

about foldable quadcopter :
look at the hammerhead from eyefly.

http://www.eyefly.info/index.php?route=product/category&path=60_86

it is the smaller brother of the black manta, which is bigger. This would be nice for your friends working on the airline.

it's like hanging out with a bunch of rc geeks at work
I love the podcasts for the show but these are really great!
regarding AMA fields- it sounds as if you are not so down with the AMA and rules, my flying buddy and I can't figure out why to join and deal with it- what is the appeal to join/fly at organized spaces?
people being anoying- I wear headphones with nothing playing...that way I can reply to really nice people being curious but ignore obnoxious passers by
thanks for another great after hours

Have you guys done any research into Valveless Pulse-jet engines? Apparently they have many advantages over Valved Pulse-jets. For one thing it doesn't require any maintenance, because it's just a shaped tube, and they have a very wide throttle range, wider than a turbine in fact. Check out this website it has detailed information and Valveless Pulse-jet plans: http://www.pulsejetengines.com/how-pulse-jets-work/

So is this new afterburning Viggen going to have Thrust Vectoring? That would be so cool to see a jet fighter hovering inches above the ground with a giant flame shooting out melting the snow below!!! :D

Love the Pod Cast!!! I look forward each week now to listen. I heard near the end that David was talking about his project, and then someone mentioned an A-10. I m working on drawing one up in Sketchup now, but if you guys came up with one in a foamy ducted fan I'm sure it would turn out much better. keep up all the great work, FT is doing Great things for the RC hobby.

Great podcast guys! as for the topic of the guy with the tic, I completely agree. I have tourette syndrome, and back in elementary and middle school it was a huge problem. I would twitch my head, sometimes even shake it back and forth, every ten seconds or so. This was usually accompanied by all my fingers extending simultaneously. However, when I was in 6th grade I got a champ and a micro t-28 for christmas. the first few flights of the champ were about five seconds long, ending when I twitched and either lost control of the plane or dropped the radio entirely. But I told myself I wasn't going home until I either flew a circle or the plane was irreparable, and eventually I found that once I got the plane up, I stopped twitching. I flew that champ at lunchtime every single day for the rest of middle school. now, as a junior in highschool, I've got a workshop full of planes and foamboard, and I haven't had a single twitch in months.

Firstly, great show. I wasn't sure about this format along side the normal podcast, but it really works. Love hearing the anecdotes. I'm a bit sceptical about what you guys said about a live audience in the normal FliteTest show though. It may be completely awesome, and Im sure you guys would pull it off, but I think it could detract from the personal one to one feel the show has at the moment. I feel like your audience (or me personally) is really close to you guys through the show, but focusing more on a live audience may take something of that away from that. Just a thought! Thanks!

Thanks, lots of interesting stuff. The remarks about flying sites was encouraging because at the moment I am a bit at a loss, shy, paranoid, something like that. Plus, there is NO chance of joining the nearest club. I have got insurance though...

I have been listening to you guys for quite some time now, A little bit about myself here, I worked for a hobby shop called Morris Hobbies years ago, They were a balsa kitting company (box of sticks airplane kits) they had lots of profile type aircraft mainly designed for 3D flying, Part of my job was building each kit we sold and fly them all, In all honesty i crashed A LOT!!! part of learning oh how i wish they were made of foam back then repair would have been so EASY!

Anyway got out of the hobby for about 13 or 14 years then stumbled on one of your videos on youtube i think it was the FT3D review, I have since built 12 of them flying them until they simply would not fly anymore and building another, I never thought to use foamboard for airplanes what an excellent material (has its drawbacks though) the good points far exceed the bad though as you all know.

I recently got into FPV in truth i tried it years ago before it became mainstreem I worked for a security company that had nanny cams they would install in teddy bears and clocks and things, They used small 2.4Ghz cameras with the receivers all in one, The distance was not very far but they worked. Well i went out and purchased a Blade CX2 coaxial helicopter chopped the nose off of the body and installed the camera and a 9 volt battery to power it. the copter lucky for me was on the old style 72Mhz 2.4 was just making an appearance at the time. worked ok until i tried to go around the corner in my apartment complex, You guessed it i crashed hard and lost interest again,

Anyway thanks for all the videos guys love your shows, One request more projects please i like it when you guys do off the wall stuff.

By the way im working on a 200% version of the FT3D i will be flying it this weekend ill let you know how it goes, Im sure the flight characteristics will be much more laid back with a larger airframe, Im just not sure about the power plant, Im going to try a 480 size motor and see what happens
