1. 2013 In Review
In this podcast episode, we take a look back on 2013 and all of the exciting things it held for FliteTest. Growing from around 30,000 YouTube subscribers to just shy of 120,000 is just one of many milestones we consider. 2013 was also a big year for the FliteTest store which until February 2013 sold pretty much just T-shirts and stickers.
There is much to be grateful for and most of all you, our audience. Thanks for the incredible love and support. The primary way we have spread is from you taking the initiative to introduce your friends and family to FliteTest and all this great hobby has to offer. We can’t thank you enough for being the “evangelists” for our brand.
Thanks for the awesome stuff, Teddy!
This is a picture from the StoneKap basement. One of our first shipments of foam!
Again, from the basement is a photo from the FT Cruiser release.
The new location from the perspective of where this podcast is being recorded! (Before the walls were put up.)
This is a photo from the first open house! We will do one again soon, just need to figure out how to accommodate everyone in our small space(which may mean warmer weather).
Shipping extraordinaires, Jen and Anna! (With Alex in the background.)

Secondly, flitetest open the hobby again for me, being able build a foam plane in a afternoon and fly it with a son or dad or both the next morning have been one of the best moment I created in 2013. For this alone, thank you!..

As for our religious belief if they don't like it they don't have to watch or listen but as for me I like a family oriented show. Keep up the great work.

Firstly like 99.9% of the people id like to thank you for you continuing hardwork and how much I enjoy all your work, look forward to all the future episodes and podcasts.
A couple of points id just like to bring up as your reviewing flitetest 2013 are :-
1. Wish shipping to Europe was n't so expensive, I understand this is out of your hands but it must loose you a lot of custom which is a shame both for you financially and getting your kits into people hands.( get a container full, ship them to me in the Uk and id love to become the European depo, seriously! ).
2. On your videos don't crash so many planes, this may "look bad" for many reasons, not that I want to come across as boring or "nanny state ish" but, to cut a long topic short, you just don't want to paint a "carefree" image. I don't want to elaborate too much but safety HAS to be the number one consideration, always. ( I'm really shooting myself in the foot here I know LOL, Mr popular, NOT! :) )
Anyway I'm really looking forward to flitetest 2014, take care guys and happy near year!
Cheers,
Nick.

I wanted to say that out of all the web sights to get info, you guys are the best and friendliest.
As for what I would like to see in 2014 is ether a complete parts list and instructions for multi rotor build (with performance/long flight time/FPV), for someone that has or can make his/her own frame. Or just come up with your own performance/long flight time/FPV machine that is better than what we see for sale reedy to fly!!! Happy New Year

In response to the lightning round Q&A long flight times on a 4000mAh battery settup. You spoke about the bixler 2 or the penguin. I fly a bixler 2 on 2 2200mAh 3s batteries in parallel (total 4400mAh) and balance that out with a large tacon bigfoot motor 1100kv with a 7x6 prop. If i have less than 4000mAh of battery in it I need more weight in the nose or else I am tail heavy. I get between 30 and 45 minutes of flight pretty regularly and also fly with the 5.8 fatshark 250mW transmitter and camera setup that comes with one of their goggle packages. Very happy with the setup even tho it is entirely too much motor for the plane but it is entirely capable of carrying the weight. I set up the flaps on a 3 position switch with no flap, half flap, and full flap and actually really enjoy gliding around on half flap while fpv flying at the beach. Handles the wind great 7-9 mph very comfortable with only about 6 months of piloting experience and get some truly beautiful views. Looking forward to mounting my sony action cam on it once the weather warms up to record some awesome footage.

You guys commented on preferring NTM to SK3 motors for multirotors. I was listening to hear any reason for this preference, but you didn’t mention any. Color, design, bearings, longevity, cost, magnet strength, quality of wiring… etc. could have been used to justify you preference. It would be nice to hear why you prefer NTM over SK3. Very interested in knowing.
