Special thanks to Curtis Youngblood for joining us!
Alex Zvada was able to join us for this episode of the podcast! Alex is our Product Specialist at
FliteTest. Manufacturing, filming, website graphics, marketing materials, multirotor filming and even answering the phone are amoung the many things that Alex contributes daily to the team. Hopefully he can join us again soon! Also, as promised, a picture of his Flying V guitar RC plane.
Curtis is the founder and owner of CJ YoungbloodEnterprises Inc and Next D. Curtis has been flying and competing with RC Helicopters since the early 1980s and is a multiple time World Champion and multiple time 3D Champion. He continues advancing his products and flying by competing in FAI competitions and 3D demonstrations around the world.
We filmed an awesome episode with Curtis performing with his Stingray 500 (a VERY exciting collective pitch Quadcopter). This episode has not been released yet, so stay tuned!

It will be a good episode to talk about motor, prop, esc, battery combos for different flight performances.

A production episode would be fun, I'm in for that!
Also, regarding an r/c flight history episode, how about Dave Herbert (NightFlyyer). He's very active on YouTube. He's been in r/c since back before proportional radios, and invented the electric tail rotor motor for rc helicopters. He's a legend!

Episode about video production would be interesting. Could you make also an episode or episodes about those earlier failed experiments? I mean like the original rocket plane and stuff like that. Someone commented this on youtube, could you guys make a plane that is powered by a leaf blower? I really like those crazy experiments, and would really like to see more of them because I don't personally have money and time to do stuff like that (i'm a student). That would be awesome!

Tricopter shakes though the tail violently if I even touch it on ground. It's happens probably because the main structure and landing legs are somewhat loose. I think that shaking could cause the servo to burn because it is moving the tail continually from side to side.

I am not sure if it is only my computer but I can't skip forward on the audio. So if for some reason I get interrupted I have to start all over again. Can you please look into it?
Thanks,

The proper pronunciation of Gyro (we are talking about the greek lamb and beef sandwich, right?) is
yē-ˌrō
Here's an audio link for the pronunciation http://www.merriam-webster.com/audio.php?file=gyro0002&word=gyro&text=%5C%CB%88y%C4%93-%CB%8Cr%C5%8D%2C%20%CB%88zhir-%C5%8D%5C
Once again, my apologies.

First, my condolences to your friend Dan and his family at Lazertoyz.
Second, thank you for all that you do. If Entertaining, Educating and Elevating the World of Flight is a mission statement, then mission accomplished. After a long break from the hobby, I'm back. Between foam and the electric technology (both efficiency and affordability) combined with the inspiration from you folks and Ed over at EA, the sky is the limit. And if David gets his way, that wont be a limit either.
Be safe and have fun,
Tommy

The iTunes store itself only searches every few hours for new podcast episodes so there is a delay there.

YES, I'd like to hear a podcast, and even see a video, covering the production of your show. I really like the style of it and would like to pick up a few tips.:) Keep up the great work!
