the hobby champ rtf is a great beginner plane  probably one of the best beginner planes. At first it may seem like a slow crusing plane but it's not - it is loaded with power. I would not recomend taking off from ground at first. instead hand lanch it, you get more  thrust . also trim the throtle to a medium and do the rudder .When hand lanching use the cg point [holding at CENTER OF GRAVITY]

though every time you take out the li po batery you have to re -bind the conroler (like every small plane) .the first time you fly the champ

do not use full throttle  it may lead you to a distance out of range .Also the controler is a  this controler will bind to all models  that have 4ch  control. speaking of channels  the champ is three but the tx is 4ch so ift any you ge any bnf thats 4 ch like a um t 28  you have a nice tx to help you.  but if you have a spketrum dx 4,5,6 or any other spektrum tx you can bind it to those and get used to a common rc tx .

a fun fact the champ is based off of a real plane called the aeronica champion thats why you see the little aeronic logo so you may consider this a scale craft but the champion and the champ dont look exactly the same but its pretty close even the font is perfect

i think horizon got it right now they just need one with as3x system in it  but our good freinds josh and josh have a video on it so here you go

                                           happy flying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Good little learner plane, was my first ever RTF. Bought it off Ebay. I did manage to break the wing on it but it CA glued right back on and was good as gold.

I learned with the Champ too. Very good trainer without a real person training you. It was easy to transition to a four channel plane after the Champ, but fun to fly indoors or outdoors in the wind.

Still learning , but lots of crashing going on. I have to say that as a newbie i wouldn't recommend flying this plane on days with WINDS +5mph

Yes airborn I still have the plane. What upgrades can I do? Its still fun to go back and fly once in a while.
And yes this plane does not handle any wind well.

exactly it cant handle wind so if you do any size adjustment to the tail and maybe replace the prop
add a stronger tail supporter and make slight aerodynamic changes you can make it a stronger plane . also change the level of skill .keep in touch so i can provide you with more

Fully agreed. Really fun little plane that really doesn't like sudden gusts and changes in the wind. Just got done doing some major repairs on it... My kids have these stickers that look like cartoon eyes, we put those on what would be considered the front of the cockpit. Looks like it's from a Pixar movie now. lol
