With close to two hours of commuting for work per day I listen to a lot of podcasts. I had to shut this one down half-way through due to the recorded volume. The talking was fine, but then the piercing laughing would force me to turn it down to the point I couldn't hear the talk. It's unfortunate for me, as I like the content and enthusiasm behind it.

Bravo. Great podcast. I agree on the starting up costs and how certain suppliers out there are doing a great job helping the entry level guys out.

That is how I got in. I'd love to buy more top $ stuff but I honestly don't see the point.

As you guys said. Go flying and have a great time.

Hello Gentlemen, I too didn't make it far into the podcast due to audio levels being all over the place. I would like to respectfully make a few suggestions.
1: Have a simple mic check before you start with one person designated as the “ear”.
2: Use an audio compressor on your microphones during recording; this (with a little tweaking) would force each mic to output nearly the same level.
3: In post-production you could run a compressor on each channel/main mix (depending on how you record). I like to use Audacity as it’s free and works great for Podcasts.
A compressor/limiter is your friend for all the crazy shenanigans the group discusses!
Thanks for all you do!

First World Problem. Thank God if this was the worst problem in your life that day.I'm not responding to earlier commenters, I'm just mentioning it so the FT guys don't feel bad if they didn't capture a perfect show. The audio was tough but I got enough of it to be able to follow.

I was a bit bothered by the account of the airplane landing - I mean crashing - on top of the lumberyard building and catching fire. I think there is a real warning in there. FPV - what if the crashed vehicle starts a fire or forest fire because of LIPOS. The seriousness of the risk of LIPOS kind of brought my internal (never to be resolved) ongoing debate of Fuel Versus Electric into balance - I think the LIPO hazard is a serious concern. Wonder what the next battery technology will be - presumably safer. There is no fire extinguisher you can buy that puts a LIPO fire out. Not even the most exotic chemical extinguisher.

I just a 9xr being that I didn't have enough money with the parts for my plane, I just tried to fly earlier this week and the plane (maker trainer 2) went into the ground multiple times because I couldn't throw it hard enough to get it up. I'm personally glad to have Hobbyking as resource. I wouldn't be in this hobby if they didn't have such a company, but this is only my opinion.

I'm pretty sure the Parrott mini drone is bluetooth, not wifi like it's large predecessor. I have one here at work and I haven't had to disconnect from wifi to use it. Connects like a bluetooth headset.
