WOT4 Foam-E Twin Motor Conversion

Well I'm always messing about with small projects, mainly alterations as I'm no scratch builder like the FT guys

So I was quite bored with my WOT4 Foam-E, I got it shortly after I first started with planes and at first it was too fast for me, but now it felt like it was on Vallium

Anyway inspired by the FT guys I decided to put twin motors on, opposite rotation and with thrust differential (that's ruddy mad)

I couldn't beleive how well it worked out, at first I tried a pair of DT750's with 10x6 3 blade props and although they had loads of power they had virtually no speed, they'd pull the WOT4 vertically forever but at a snails pace, quite comical really

So I took those off and fitted a pair of NTM 3530/1100kv motors with 12 x 6 props and boy what a difference

She flew like she was on rails, I'd never flown anything so stable, the landings were buttery smooth (not like me at all)

The conversion itself was fairly simple a couple of pieces of 25mm wide aluminium flat stock bent into a squared off U shape and glued into slots I cut with a knife in the front of each wing, leaving enough space to fit 12 inch props and about a spare 1.5 inches more to give a good clearance from the fuselage

I did my best to keep the motors in line with the fuse by eyesight and it worked out very well

How does she fly ?
Fantastically, I fitted a Zippy Compact 4000mah 3s which happens to not only be a perfect fit in the battery compartment but also balance the plane perfectly on top of that I am now getting around 9 min flight times compared to the 7 minutes on a single motor with a 3000mah, the weight doesn't seem to have made any noticeable difference, she will still fly dead slow if required but now here roll rate is incredile, the aerobatics are fantastic and if I'm brave enough to flick the mental thrust diff switch it's insane

She was already covered in LED's for the UFO spotters but now I've also bolted on a brushless camera gimbal (some alterations still required for better video)
