So, you've shot your FPV video and just feel like something is missing. A nice intro. You might want to present your aircraft or yourself in some cool way.
For me, it was wanting to make a kinda cool looking timelapse but also making it "come alive" with some movement. I wanted to pan over my hexacopter with blue skies in the background, preferably with a fluffy cloud passing by. Although I didn't really get my fluffy cloud this is what I got.
This timelapse is actually a 10 min video sped up to only 15 sec. As you might see, it's shot with my GoPro.
But how did I make it pan? Ofcourse you could move the camera yourself, but you really need a steady hand to make a smooth video.
Actually it's quite simple. All you have to do is grab a GoPro mount and stick it to an egg timer, the old analogue ones.
The egg timer I had, had a round-ish knob on it so I had to sand it down to fit the GoPro mount on it.
The GoPro case mounted on my egg timer.
The "making of" the videos below. The timer was set on 15 min to get a nice 90 degree pan, always keeping the hexacopter in view.
These are the videos I made today.
Btw. Another fun use of this rig is putting it in the middle of a table when you have a party and just let it record for an hour. You'll get a 360 degree timelapse from the party.
