Homemade Hands Free Item Holder

by TheDeltaFlight | March 13, 2014 | (11) Posted in Tips

After my little item holder "thingy" broke, I found that I needed something to help solder my wires with. I never knew how useful it was until it broke. Even though HobbyKing has them for cheap, I won't be getting another one until I make another order there, so I guess it's time to order more motors and servos :P

Here's a link to HobbyKing's Item holder:

Cut 3 peices of foam to about 1" x 3.5"

Join 2 of the peices at a 90 degree angle from one another.

Attach the third peice of foam to the bottom of the vertical peice, mirroring the other horizontal one.

Finally, attach your cloths pins about 2" apart.

I hope someone finds this useful!

Simple but effective. I will be making one tonight. I think instead of the two sides for the
bottom I might just cut a 3/16" channel in a one piece base and glue the vertical into the channel.
Should make the bottom a little more level and smooth. Thanks for the idea, 5 stars
