FliteTest Bat-Bone Tricopter

I built this tricopter from the FliteTest Bat-Bone kit. Overall it is an awesome Multi-copter that is incredibly robust and easy to build.

In this Tri-Copter I first used the KK 2.0 board but after some flights it died on me for no reason so I switched over to a KK 2.1.5. I love this control board as it is so ewasy to set up. The only thing I changed was turning the gains on the rudder down and cutting the stick scaling in half.

I love how it folds down so small. This is a big plus for transportabilaty especially since I'm taking it to camp A.M.A. with me. (It's all the way in Indiana o:)

Technical specifications:
Motors: EMAX Multicopter 2213-935 (935kv)
ESC's: EMAX Simon Series 20A
Flight controller: KK 2.1.5 (Firmware 1.6)
Tilt-servo: EMAX E5 BBMD(Metal Gear)
Battery: 2200mah 3s 20C
Props: 10X4.5

Flying

I love this tricopter. It was so dialed in I barely had to do anything. I also love how it swoops into the turns compared to my friend quad. If you have any money to spare, I would certainely recomend you get one. It is well worth the money & time to put it together.

FPV Setup

For FPV I am using a Boscam RC305 5.8GHZ receiver paired with a Boscam 500mw transmitter. I am using a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition for the FPV camera.

The screen is a FieldView 888 8" LCD FPV display.

Have a great day and Happy Flying.

Nice build and awesome flying. I just built a Bat Bone Tri myself, but after wrecking the tail servo mount, I rebuilt it as a V-tail quad; and it rocks! It's super fast and stable. If you get tired of the Tricopter, I'd definitely give the V-tail a go, it's an easy conversion.

I think I'll give it a try sometime. I just cant get the tilt to be slop free and right now i'm actually buying a new tail tilt. I might just buy the stuff to make a v-tail. If I do I'll definitely make an article. Thank you and have a nice day.
