Flite Fest South 2017

Flite Test South was an awesome event, held in Lake Wales, Florida, at the Lake Wales Municipal Airport.
It was a great example of how full scale aircraft, parachutes, and model aircraft can all mingle together safely.

I brought almost every plane that I have collected over the years of watching Flite Test and building Flite Test planes.

One of the best experiences at the event was seeing familiar faces, and meeting new ones.

I really enjoyed flying planes that have sat in the hangar for such a long time.

I never pass up the opportunity to help a fellow pilot as they learn to fly for the first time.  We had a great maiden, but, as all of us do, unfortunately he crashed on his first ever flight of an airplane.  Luckily, the only casualty was the 1000mah 3s battery that I lent him, and some foam - totally repairable. 
It was so awesome to see everyone at Flite Fest South 2017.

It has been about 3 years since I have seen the Flite Test crew in Florida, at the CFL FPV meet, also known as Mud Fest.  It was awesome to see Josh, Josh, Alex, Austin, TJ, and the rest of the gang at the Lake Wales Municipal Airport.  

Unfortunately, I haven't ever been able to attend one of the Ohio Flite Fest events.  One day I need to head that way, but, for now, they came to see me.  What an honor to have them host an event in Florida.

This event was also special, because we had it at an active airport, with the FAA on site making sure everything went smoothly.  There was full scale aircraft, flying together with powered, and non-powered gliders, flying together with RC aircraft.   All without any incidents.  What an awesome time it was.
