I wanted a quick and simplistic way to keep track of and somewhat protect my keychain/mobius cameras. At first I was looking into buying a smaller pelican case or the like and 'plucking' out the foam to make them fit. Then being somewhat 'cheap' like Bixler ;) I decided to look around and see what I had that would work. I happened to be at good ol' dollar tree (buying some foamboard of course) and found a 2 pack of 'Lock-Top' snack containers with lids. Two for a buck you can not go wrong (they come in multiple colors as well). I then remembered I had some old 'craft foam' stuffed away from back when I was tying flies for fishing. I grabbed a few sheets along with my x-acto knife. I think you can snag this foam at any Hobby Lobby or online at Amazon. You can pickup a huge stack for $5 or less with a 40% coupon ;) (Hobby Lobby newspaper coupon weekly) I ended up with something like this. I threw together the mobius case first then snapped a few photos while making one for a keychain cam. See them below. They are pretty self explanatory but if you have questions feel free to ask. First I start off by cutting out about 8 sheets of any color all to roughly the same size to fill the base of the container. Then trace your cam onto one of the top sheets Then cut it out with your x-acto Do this for the next three sheets or so leaving yourself a few uncut below Then pick a color which you would like to see when you open your case (I picked a simple tan color) Now turn the base of the case upside down. Press it firmly on the foam. It should leave an indentation as to where to cut so you can get a snug fit for cosmetics on your top layer. And give it a test fit If all is well trace your camera on this top layer (remember to keep it lined up with the pre cut out section below). Again with your x-acto cut it out. And test fit yet again. Repeat the process for the lid (I used two layers of foam in the lid). I then grab my gorilla glue and get to work gluing it all together. Once I have it all glued together (don't use too much as we all know gorilla glue expands a bit). I have been taking another case and stacking them in this order once I glue it. Lid at the bottom base above it then set another full case on top of both. Then I place something (I used a jar of my wife's jelly-bellys) on top for some pressure while drying. It ends up working very well. I have now made a case for both of my keychain cams as well as my action cam. I picked up a few more cases today as they make great small parts holders as well. Simple project for less than $1 a case. Hope it is of use for someone out there. Take care, Neil
