They look like an excellent investment! If I had a transmitter which I know i'd keep i'd most certainly get one of those!

The only problem with these replacements is there's no 'give' - fine if you've a light touch, but apply too much force and you'll start to stress the little mechanical pressure switches underneath the assembly. However, in saying that, how often do you fiddle with these little switches?

Quite alot, because unless your plane is perfectly trimmed all the time which is very rare, its very common to be tuning it whilst in flight!

Hi, I've done similar repairs to the DX6i, but I found that once one rocker starts to go they all seem to go quite soon after. I think the plastic 'ages' and gets brittle. Maybe worth checking them all while you've got the back off the unit. Your glue repair looks a winner, but I had varied success with mine - I probably used the wrong glue. Frustrated by having to go back and repeat the repair, I eventually bit-the-bullet and just ordered-up replacement parts. It wasn't too bad a price, and it definitely gave me a bit of peace of mind once I'd replaced them all. Nothing worse than clicking in a few trim 'nudges', then finding the button gets stuck adding more and more adjustment as you're trying to fly. Scary stuff! Nicely explained though!

Yeah, thats interesting, I think a good strong glue is essential! Thanks for the feedback!

I had the same problem on my DX6i. I attribute the breakage to excessive downward force on the switches while it was inside an Atomix carrying case I purchased from Horizon Hobby. The case is not ridgid and has very little clearance above the switches. As a result, if the case is put in a backpack or other tight space, the case presses in on the switches and can break them. If anyone reading this has purchased an Atomix case for the transmitter, take a heat gun to it and mold it out near the rudder and aileron trim switches to give them more clearance while in the case. That being said, isn't it insane that with all the incredible technology in this transmitter, that a small plastic trim switch part has the sophistication and robustness of two toothpicks glued together?

You're exactly right, I think it's just because it's easier to manufacture!
