Great podcast guys, keep it up.

I just wanted to comment on the whole left vs right turn thing. I have the same problem myself, I always thought it was because I got more comfortable in the beginning learning taking left turns. My flying friend who happens to be a lefty also finds left turns more comfortable.

Thinking about it further now I think it may have more to do with it being easier for your thumb to make a controlled movement pushing, instead of the pulling direction needed for a right. More so because the position your hand is in holding your TX than the actual motion of your thumb itself.

I wonder if any of the pinch guys have a different experience.

To build on what Flat4 said - For me, turning left is easier because when you push your thumb out to turn left, its easier to then move your thumb up and down to make elevator corrections. Its awkward to pull your thumb in, then move it up and down. You lose a little control precision by turning right.

i saw the title jesterday night and i listend today! i so much love soaring and realy liked your storys. i could feel with you as i learnd rc-flight with ridge and thermal soaring around vienna austria. And was soaring this Monday. man, nice big thermals are great. ... when the lift hits your plane hard and you can do what you like in the air. on the other hand only a litle bit of thermals and some wind on a nice mounten can be verry chalenging and a lot exciting and fun. especialy if you are together out there and fighting for more meters over ground....

thks for this nice podcast!

I really enjoyed talking with the guys on this podcast. I hope that others enjoyed some of my shared experiences in the RC flying hobby. I hope to get invited to another podcast in the future.

Left turns might be easier because the torque of the motor helps bank it to the left.
