Where are they now with Brandon Vanbeber!

To the Flite Test Community,

I had the opportunity to get with one our past students who graduated from the program back in 2011, Brandon Vanbeber. If you have been watching our channel since the beginning you would have known Brandon, very creative, super fast builder, and had the need for speed.  He was known for creating over 80 planes in middle school, and pioneering the use of CAD in our program for developing planes.

Brandon went on to finish high school and immediately started using the skills learned creating planes into creating his own business in the realm of motorcross graphic design.  Currently working out of a shop in Windsor Colorado, he is already swamped with orders, and making a name for himself in the area, enough to support him and make him start future planning on where he wants to go with this business.  He hopes to move out soon and develop his own shop, create a website and stronger online marketing campaign, and applying for larger contracts that involves his work. He currently outbids and does the work for local dealerships in the area.

Brandon said a lot of his success comes from his experiences in school, especially MESA and the realm of planes.  It taught him discipline in time management, design skills, communication and soft skills, and the list goes on. We are very proud of Brandon and what he has been able to accomplish in just a short amount of time, maybe one day I will be going to his shop for graphic design favors and scrap pieces, lol.

Brandon seen here in 8th grade.

His A-10 creation!

Stearable landing gear on his B-2

Brandon now getting crazy on the dirt courses, and picking up customers!

Showing off some of his work

Using the CAD skills learned, he carried this over to Adobe Illustrator.

Proud teacher! Its fun to see them grow.

A big thanks goes out to you guys for watching and supporting not just Brandon but all the students that have come through our program.  By you watching and giving feedback and encouragement, you have pushed them to exceed beyond the program and to carry out those expectations. Start a FT STEM school in your area to see the benefits working with scratch build planes. The curriculum is there to get teachers and students rolling.
