The Flite Test Podcast is Back!

We're back with a brand new episode of the Flite Test Podcast! This week we're introducing James Whomsley as the new host and everything to come.

"Season 2" of the FTP has just dropped with its new bi-weekly episodes and a new host - but what can you expect? Give it a listen and you'll find out!

Who is this new host?

To put a face to the voice, I'm James Whomsley the editor of flitetest.com and the new showrunner of the FT Podcast. Like David Windestål, I'm from Europe. Specifically, I'm from England, hence the strange accent! I've been writing all of the Flite Test article content for the website for around a year now. I'm thrilled to now have the opportunity to now produce fresh podcast content for our fantastic FT community.

You may have seen me in the background of some of the Flite Fest Ohio 2018 videos as well as on an episode of Alex and Austin's DriveOn YouTube channel.

What's New at Flite Test?

Other than news about changes to the FTP, we also talked about the amazing A-10 Warthog Vs. RC Tank project that we're working hard on at the moment. Here's the latest video on how we put together the huge foam board ground vehicle. The thing is 10ft long!

We also talked about the FTLongEZ which dropped in September. If you haven't yet got round to it, check out the video down below and the kit in the FT Store.

One other big news story concerns a project that I personally have been hard at work on over the last few months. We're all very proud to announce that Flite Test is producing its first print publication, The Flite Test Book of RC Airplanes. Here's a sneak preview.

This will be available on both Amazon and the Flite Test Store in a matter of months. We can't wait to get this out to you guys. It has been designed to be the perfect companion to your first RC airplane. If you're more of an experienced RC pilot, you will still gain some helpful tips and tricks whilst being able to share the book with a friend. You can use it to:

  • Help you buy or build your first airplane
  • Learn the basics of RC electronics
  • Pick up the essentials of aerodynamics
  • Teach yourself how to fly
  • Get a friend into the hobby

If you're excited about what's to come, good! We are too!

Make sure to check back for the next episode of the new Flite Test Podcast in two weeks time.

I would like to see some more active podcasts. Some of the last podcasts were awesome but some were flops. Do one with Peter or William Osman!

Very cool! I feel that the book might also work great in a library to help get people interested into the hobby. And as for guests I think you should also try to get some community members of the forum to come onto the podcast every once and awhile.

Can't wait to see where this goes!!

Glad to have it back but the levels were all over the place and it was hard to listen to. I was constantly adjusting the volume up and down.

Noted, we had a few problems with the audio which should be fixed next time out. Thanks for your feedback!

Yay!!! More podcasts!!! Could you please put them on youtube as well? Also, they are a bit quiet. I have the volume on full and it still is hard to hear for me to hear. Thanks for bringing them back!
