Local Motors Spitfire Build

by Phatjax | February 12, 2014 | (8) Posted in Reviews

Hey everyone, new member here... been lurking a while, and finally built a spitfire. I work at Local Motors, and a bunch of us are starting to get into foam construction, so I thought I'd share my quick spitfire review video from our video blog, normally hosted at localmotors.com.

Can't wait to build more, get some combat videos up, and hopefully somehow integrate Rally Fighters!

Looks great and nice flying! My first FT build was the F-22, and I have the Versa Wing sitting ready for me to order some electronics. I'm starting with the speed build kits, and once I have more experience, hope to cut the foam from plans. Also eyeing the Versa Wing for FPV.

Love the Versawing! I just crashed my first one into a pole pretty hard, and I'm already getting excited to build another one.

Love it David! I just finished a Viggen too! That thing is awesome! Unfortunately, I burnt out either the ESC or the motor on the 4th flight, looks like I'm gonna have to cut the wing off to see which. :-/

Looks good and flies real well, well done. I agree, these guys have some great designs and they are easy and, cheap to build. They are a bunch of really nice fellows too. Just waiting now to see your next project.

I love how mine flies and it lands like a feather. I got the Speed Build kit from the store and I'm amazed at the quality of the parts. Isn't it cool how good it looks doing a low and slow fly-by?!

Heck yeah! Not much beats the WW2 fighter side profile.

I dig your paint scheme, and it's great that you are giving a shout out. I'll be sure and check your site out, as well. I've built a couple of FT Spits and simply love the way they fly, they track very true and move out pretty well with an 8x6 prop and 28 size motor.

Thanks! I've been running a 9x6 on the Emax motor from "the beef" pack, and it certainly gets up and goes.
