V-Tail vs Tricopter - Viewer Response

by FliteTest | August 12, 2013 | (19) Posted in News

Josh and David talk about what they like better, the tricopter or the v-tail quad.  Also, hear about tips for traveling with your airplanes and multirotors.

David experienced a drive-in movie for the first time and they watched Disney's Planes. The movie experience has inspired them to start a new project and they talk more about that in this episode!.

Check out the great articles mentioned at the links below!

Ninja - David was the real highlight of the show. I think the sword is also a good way to distract the staff at the airport from your lipos in your luggage.

Hey I've got a quick question here..
I am about to build a bat-bone tricopter and was wodering what length of the booms is recommended to give the tricopter similar flying agility and stability as the original tricopter by David?

Thanks!

When I travel with my LiPos I transport them in the fire-safe bags that you are supposed to charge them in.

I have a tricopter and I am building a v-tail. I hope I'm not disappointed by the performance of the v-tail. Either way, it looks cool and that is enough. :)

Why not you build a four motor swappable or a p51d mustang swappable? You can put retract on the Spitfire? Just some idea....

I'm from the era of wooden and nylon props, and have never educated my self beyond apc or master air screw for electrics . I would feel comfortable using GWS props on geared power units but what are the rpm limits on those or the colored ones from hk used on brushless motors..
