Tricopter in the Snow

So all throughout last week I was excited when I heard news of snow prediction for the week.  It's been about two years since we've got a good snowstorm here and I had already made plans to capture some footage from the tricopter.  So, that's just what I did!  It was also a great opportunity to test out a mount/case that I made for my Canon 310HS camera.  I was very pleased with the results that I got.  The video was very smooth and Jello - free.

Here are all four runs that I did:

I started out in the backyard.  The tri was very heavy and sluggish compared to what I was used to.

If you like crashes, this one is for you!  I'm not sure what the cause of this crash was.  I think that some snow may have melted on the controller board.  There was no damage though!

I the end I hope that you enjoyed watching some of my flying, and I hope that I've inspired you to go out and get some great footage for yourself!  (even if it's just around your neighborhood like me!)

Nice.
My first attemt to do FPV with my own Tri copter was in a snow storm. The vidio became epic....

But. Do remember.
Do protect all the delicate electronic from the elements, snow = water, and that does not mix well with open printed boards and electronics.
So it is essetial that you dryes it completely after flight in snow or rain/moist conditions.

Haha yes, I did try to tape a plastic bag over my controller board and ESCs.
