The development of 3Flite came about that I had my private channel & I started talking to people advising them with comments on Youtube, I then started making ameteur videos edited off my phone where I would give a little tip on how to do something and this became a habit, it stuck and i started asking people whether there was room for a channel like I had in mind, I guess when I came across the channel like Flitetest I immediately thought that there was nothing like it in England therefore i slowly started developing the website and getting together a team to make it work. Me and Dan worked tirelessly developing the website, making it better and better!
At any one time we can have up to 5 camera's rolling as well as microphones which we have setup to enhance the experience. Now we work off a school boys budget we don't have big dslr camera's or any other fancy equipment like other channels like Flitetest for example. We have 2 digitals a single dslr and a video camera used for our audio, obviously in the future we will aim to get more quality things for our video production but so far we work with what we've got and its quite effective.
From the fact that we film at our own pace and will I like how we can make mistakes and it enables us to pick our favourite parts. We've visited a few events, and we love chatting to the pro's as well as the people behind stalls etc, and one of our favourite features of an event is developing a sort of trailer for the event, often these don't get aired however it build my skills as an editor & also makes a pretty cool watch.
As you can appreciate we are not at a level where we can leave school and spend 7,8,9 hours on 3Flite a day, all of the lads are at a crucial point in school life and sometimes this can affect 3Flite filming, sometimes it can be up to 2 weeks before we get any new footage!, Our episodes normally take around 3/4 hours to fully film and that's the easy part, next comes the producing! The editing can take up to 3 or 4 hours to develop and once this has been done next comes the verdict, we watch the video over and over we have a video tester, the one who watches the final product before it's uploaded, in the form of my mum who loves watching the videos and isn't afraid of giving us criticism, we decide whether we would want to watch the video again, if not the video simply is not uploaded!
Our progress has been outstanding for just around 10 months of work!.. I've some idea's where i want 3Flite to go to, I'd like us to start hosting events and fly in's where we can meet the subscribers and other people who are interested in 3Flite, to talk about the hobby we love the most, i'd also like to see us being responsible & be relied on by business to deliver professionalism and ensure them companies that the videos will be to top standard. Obviously i want 3Flite to become more and more popular in the future, I want the level of people who are being educated and asking questions towards 3Flite to increase, I know that both me and Dan as well as the crew want to become more and more known in the rc community and eventually i'd love to make a living from being in front of a camera, and with my mate by my side our chemistry of knowing one another for such a long time really adds another effect to our pieces!
Being set up in summer 2012 and to say that we haven't even been doing 3Flite a year, I think the progress as presenters, cameramen, editors, directors is outstanding.
We really like constructive feedback and if anyone of you watching have anything to say please do through our contact portal!
My favourite motto to the lads is that we can only get better from where we have come from, i think that the next two years will be a crucial one for us and we can wait to see what the viewers, subscribers and the sponsors throw at us.
Thanks so much for all of our subscribers as well as everyone who has supported us so far!
If you have any advice on how you believe we can get more traffic etc, Please contact us!
Thankyou
Elliot
