Sky Surfer Easy Aileron Servo Wire Conection
Good day fellow fliers! Transporting our planes is always a great concern for us, be it a scale plane or a simple foamy glider, disassembly is often required to transport our planes from our house and to the flying field and something some of us hate to do is to disassemble the plane and the wirings that follow with it.
To make assembly and disassembly easier for me on my SkySurfer, I made a modificatiion to the aileron servo wire connections from the receiver that made aseembly and disassembly fast and easy.
Aileron Connector Fix (from Rx side)
I found a way to put the aileron servo wire extension from the receiver located at a fixed place. Fixed enough not to get dislodged when I connect the aileron servo connector.
1. I cut a recess into the foam deep enough to set the connector flat and wobble-free.
2. I glued the connector into the recess I made. Hot Glue, double-sided tape or CA will work.
3. I further secured the connector with scotch tape or any sticky tape will work.
Aileron Servo Wire Rerouting
The aileron servo wire now needs to be located outside of the fuselage and under the wings for easy access.
1. I cut a short length of foam from the wing underside that inserts into the fuselage. Do this on both wing underside.
2. Relocate the aileron servo wire into the cut recess, apply a small amount of glue to secure.
Wings and wire attachment.
I fittted the wing and there was no hassle at all.
Now the servo wire.
I let the aileron servo wire loose for the test fit, you may also shorten teh exposed wire for security.
Assembly and disassembly will now take you half a minute and no need to dig into the receiver and pull out wires and terminals.
Happy DIY!
