like what you are doing there... wing looks fine ... give her enough power and she'll be a joy in the air ;-) ... my approach is the same... "build it ... and see what will happen".. i cut the servo holes on my newest project into the side of the fuselage... perhapes not as neet as it could be... but a practical approach .... no measurements, no plans, just imagination and fooling around with parts I had... from my experience it will work... keep on working and post a vid of your maiden...
I bet, the experience of seeing something fly, you self constructed will potentially higher then seeiing someting fly someone else constructed for you... lol... sry got a little bit emotionally carried away with this....

for servo shelf , you can just cut an A style fold with place for 2 servos. look in the swappable.
