OrangeRx RX3S V2 Stabilizer - Delta Setup

by ProjectFlightDesign | May 30, 2013 | (6) Posted in Tips

How to setup a delta wing with the OrangeRx V2 Stabilizer unit. This unit has onboard delta mixing, so start off by disabling any delta mixing that you have programmed.

- Rx: Using male-to-male servo wires, hook up the Elevator and Aileron controls from your Rx to the stabilization unit's Ele and Aile ports

- Stabilizer: Plug in your right control surface to Ele and your left control surface to Ail-L (right and left control surfaces as you look at the plane from the nose). Then flip the dip switches to the left for Ail, Ele, and Delta. [if your servos are lying down (mine are upright), you need to leave both ELE and AIL L set to NORMAL, rather than reversing them - thanks Flash5Cartooning!]

- Tx: Reverse your elevator output.

That's it! Hope this helps. Let me know what questions you have.

(I think that this should work for all transmitters, but I am using a Dx7se and can't verify this!)

I've been testing a orange stabilizer, turning the stabilizer on when flying can be bad, latest problem has been either a rec failure or delink, haven't torn into it yet. Be sure to have unit well fastened dble surface tape and turn it on when craft is level. sudden tail wiggle comes on for no reason.

are you getting tail wiggle when you set the gyro b4 take off or in the air? you may have your gain set way to high. if this is the case like mine was just turn them 1/4 and test fly to adjust the settings to your needs..

After takeoff, my settings are very low but when it is working properly it makes it possible to fly and land in very high wind( a low wing version of EA's NOOBTUBE).
