Just wanted to show you a product I got for doing FPV flight on my RC plane. The product is called a Cyclops Storm OSD. OSD stands for on-screen-display. It puts telemetry information, like speed and altitude, on the screen to aid in your flight. The board takes your video camera input, adds the on-screen telemetry and output the composite video to your video transmitter. In the video, I do some narration during this flight and explain what you're seeing on the OSD.
You get more than just an OSD with the Cyclops Storm, you also get stabilization with heading lock, return to home and configurable range limit. It's also firmware upgradeable. It's quite reasonably priced for all those features.

With this flight, I’m flying line-of-sight only, but eventually I will be looking through some video goggle and I will see a FPV or first person view from the perspective of the plane.
I’m testing video quality over a distance to get an idea of what my range will be. I’d recommend this for anyone trying a new FPV system.

This a Skywalker version 6, purchased from HobbyKing. The motor I’m running is a Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 3536-1200kv Brushless Motor. The prop is a 9x7 3-blade Master Airscrew. The battery is Turnigy 3-cell 5000mah lipo. The ESC is a Hobbyking SS Series 40-50A. The video system includes a HobbyKing 5.8GHz 200mW video transmitter and receiver, HobbyKing 5.8GHz circularly polarized antennas and a GoPro Hero Camera. Video was taken at 720p and 60 fps.
The OSD includes a remote GPS, current sensor, configuration button board and cables.
