To The FliteTest Community:

On behalf of the MESArcFF team, thank you so much for the support of our last video as well as all of our videos, because of you guys we keep this going. Good ratings and the want to watch our channel gives the kids motivitation to create cool things for your approval and to share.  With that said, this episode features 7th grade student Ashton Lyon recreating the Dark Knight, extending the main wing and giving it a different shape.  Which in turn gave the plane more stability and control.  He knew the plane was originally built for speed and agility, but he wanted to tinker with it to make the plane for more feasable for him to fly as well as other beginners, plus he really liked the original design.  Below are some pics of his build and links to the FREE PLANS that he created for all to download and tryout. So enjoy, download, build, and please share your build pic with us.

Here is the plane in the initial build stages.

Here he shows the control sufaces and what he learned from his first prototype that didn't go as planned.

The plane looks amazing and he did a real good job on the spray paint.

The plane just flew right out of the hands.  In fact, he designed our first ever scratch build that did not require any weights up front when throwing for center of gravity testing.  Glided perfect when it was done being built.

On high rates the plane still become very agile and fun to fly. This pic shows the plane rolling 180 degrees.

Ashton pulled a little too hard on the sticks and we couldn't bring him up.  However, the plane is super easy to make and fast.

Below are the free plans, thank you for supporting the MESArcFF program:

This is pretty much what I'm looking for. Thanks Ashton for making this rocket into a bit of a trainer. I'll see if I can build a light version and see how my kids do with it. Too many of the trainers look like trainers, and having the prop covered will probably save us a few $ and a lot of trouble. Thanks!

I did not find recommendations for motor, esc, battery, and prop for this build. Did you use the same as shown on the original Dark Knight plans? I would be interested in the slowest configuration you could come up with for this airframe.
