Landing Gear with Steerable Tail Wheel

by hursto75 | April 13, 2014 | (15) Posted in Projects

I love the FT Spitfire but found I wanted more scale take off and landing.  I thought landing gear would be a nice add. I used the front wheels from a T-28 and built the steerable tail wheel on my own. All the wood parts are made from 1/8" birch ply. I will include the wood plans for the parts I made. The included build video walks you through how to build and install the landing gear.

If you have any question or if you are interested in pre-cut wood parts shoot me an email at hursto75@gmail.com.

Yogenh,
I use 1/8th birch plywood and I cut it with a laser cutter. If you want more info send me an email hursto75@gmail.com.

Thanks,
Brad

The canopy is made from the top part of a Pepsi 2 liter bottle. I used some black electrical tape cut thin for the detail.

Jut to let you know, I referenced this idea here:

Much better than mine for anything over a once or three or flying weight.
Thanks!
