Lake Ballard is a salt lake on the edge of the desert 50km from Menzies in Western Australia, it's also the home of award winning artist Anthony Gormley's 'Inside Australia', a collection of 51 sculptures. This was an excellent test for Jas's DIY 'integrated FPV handset'. It worked a treat with all the filming done from one static location and all the 'framing' done using an onboard flight cam.
Lake Ballard is is a salt lake in the Goldfields-Esperance area of Western Australia about 50 kilometres (31 mi) West of Menzies.
In 2003, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Perth International Arts Festival the 'Inside Australia' exhibition was commissioned. The artist and Turner Prize winner Antony Gormley installed 51 sculptures over an area of 10 square kilometres (4 sq mi) on the bed of the lake.
