Hi, Malc here. Before the article begins could I please ask for your support? Please rate this article so we know when we are getting it right. Thank you =)
In this episode Alan, Ivor and Malc take the new Hobby King Sky Eye FPV Glider for it's line of sight maiden and review. This new FPV platform offers the pilot tonnes of space for FPV equipment and a nice protected dome up front should help protect your FPV camera in the event of an unscheduled landing (what we call our crashes)
One of the issues with the early Bixler was wing flex. Fortunately this model seems to have that issue under control, we saw no sign of it in our review at all.
The power chain in this glider seems to have plenty of power (when not using my old puffed batteries) for it's intended use and even has some left over for mild aerobatics. I will be upgrading to a 40Amp Plush and an APC prop at some point, this should deliver a little more power and will give me a little more piece of mind over the standard ESC.
The foam is good and solid and should stand up to knocks and bangs without too much trouble. Decals and general fit and finish of the model is also very good. I really like the large landing wheel and I can see myself using this for taking off when the grass is short enough (just look out for that dog poop!)
As it turns out the servos were enough to fly it on but now the review is out the way and my FPV gear is going in I WILL BE changing the elevator servo. Why HK used these crapy servos God only knows. They should have used something decent and charge me a little more for the glider or just left them out and sold it to me at this price. The airframe is worth the money IMO and having the option to put decent servos on the important linkages without having to rip these crapy one out would have been nice.
Anyhoo I'll shut up and let you watch the video. FPV maiden coming soon!
Please rate this and leave us a comment if you have time we really appreciate it.

It could also work well like that keeping the cool air flowing though the plane (it would need some exit holes though)
