Get RSSI from most receivers!

Im sure lots of you guys have those turnigy 9x and hk t6a v2 stock receivers and like me, there are persons who cant spend lots of money on this hobby, even loving it so much.

So i found out one way of getting that signal. It's not that real rssi signal, but it shows you if there are any lost packets in your transmission. When you know that, its time to come back!

That way is take the + power of the led, and bring it to the osd rssi plug. My osd is the cyclops storm.

Let's see how its made!

Search for the led, and on its positive side, solder your cable with your rssi osd plug in the other side.

Solder it carefully and make sure it's well soldered!

Next step is making the hole where the cable is going out of the plastic case.

Perfect!

Then plug it in your osd and configure the rssi signal max and min using the menu.

Well, now test it, in my case its working fine, 100% signal when tx is close to rx, and it drops when tx is turned off

Hope you enjoy. I know that's not the best rx and rssi, but it works and for a less than 10$ receiver you cant's really complain!!

I'm sorry for my bad english, i'm portuguese!

You all are invited to see my youtube channel! My main fpv plane is the FT Versa and i make a lot of videos with it and testing equipment for fpv.

Go there and if you like subscribe please!

Cheers,

Pedro

I inicially have done it like you say , but then i figured Out that the Led will always be on even if i shut off the rĂ¡dio . that way you would always see full signal. Then i remover the ground wire and it works! Please let me know if something dont work.

Very elegant solution! Now I have to see how it works with the Skylark tiny OSD III.

Followed this tutorial and achieved RSSI with a few minor tweaks for the Turnigy with F3. Have included details,
