Well, Josh B from FliteTest has done it again! Maiden of the FT3D. This was a lot of fun. She got off the ground really well, needed to be trimmed and then she was an ease and pleasure to fly. I saw the flight review for this bird on FliteTest Thursday morning and by Thursday night had her built and sitting waiting for the rain to stop. She is literally made from 2.25 sheets of Dollar Tree, dollar, foam board, hot glue and parts I had laying around from other projects and of course the power pod from the Baby Blender. The build was straight forward and very quick...it takes longer to print the plans, cut, line up, tape together then cut them out and transfer them to the foam then it does to build the airplane. For the maiden I started with a 3S 1300mah 30C battery with a 9x6 prop. Four and a half minutes of flight and the battery was at 3.88 per cell. Not bad. I think she'll be where I want her with a 10x4.7 prop. Once trimmed out she tracks well, the wind was pushing her around a bit, and handles nicely. Didn't notice any of the hard left yank as on the Baby Blender. Josh B isn't kidding, the roll rates are extremely fast "Ballistic" as he put it, but at the same time very axial. She's incredibly solid and can snap roll inside of herself and can handle very violent cork screws and other maneuvers. Inverted flight was not a problem and she is also very floaty, not as much as the Baby Blender, but really nice. Once I have her dialed in completely and a few more flights I'll really push her to see what she can handle. The only mod I did to her was to stabilize the rudder and elevator with BBQ skewers. Solid! Thanks again FliteTest! This is way to much fun! Dennis
