FT Duster Scratch Build

Here is a video I filmed of me talking about and flying my FT Duster scratch build. I am getting back into the hobby after about 15 years and just now learning about "electric foamies". I got started with one of the FliteTest kits (FT3D) and now I am making scratch builds like this one. I love flying the planes but I have also found that building them is 1/2 the fun for me. I find the building process to very very rewarding. Rock On FliteTest. You guys are awesome...

Parts used...

I used all the parts recommended by FliteTest except the foam board. I used Elmer's foam board instead because it's available at my local arts and crafts store. It is more expensive (about $7.00 per board) than the dollar tree board but I found the paper to be a bit stronger and more durable on the Elmers board. Plus it comes in a bunch on colors too.

Thank you! It is kinda quick but I am a speed freak. Must go faster... LOL

I am experimenting with different props to see if I can get some more speed but I am running into heat issues. It is very hot here in South Florida right now and the speed controller is getting so hot I am worried the plane is going to burst into flames.

I may have to try a higher rated speed controller. I also got an idea from a forum post here on FT about mounting the speed controller outside the plane.

Back to the drawing board!

Thanks for the reply!

Thank you! I know from my own experience watching videos that you can not make them too long or you lose the persons attention. Short and sweet is the way to go. Well, unless of course you make videos with top notch production value like the FliteTest crew does. :) I can always watch their videos till the end no matter how long they are.
