We will be using the donations to get a shoulder rig for the Camera to improve video and an editing program for video to enhance video quailty and we will be having more effects put in to place. I shoot all my video on my iPhone/Gopro Hero 2, and I can say with certainty that production value has much more to do with time and care invested that with your equipment.
As for the video editing software, there are many great "free" options. For example iMovie should be able to handle just about everything you would need for a plane video. If you really want to step it up and throw in some graphics, torrenting FCPX or After Effects is really simple.
