How’s it going guys? Today I’ll be doing an unboxing of the DRQ250 “Mini-D” frame made by Drone Frames. This will be the first part of a few videos, which will take you from the unboxing to FPV flights and an overall review. But if you don't want to watch all of them I recommend you watch the last video (DRQ250 Review and FPV)

DRQ250 Unboxing:

Some key features on this frame:

  •  Clean and dirty sections connected with M3 vibration dampeners for jello free video.
  •  Included power distribution board (PDB), makes soldering ESCs a piece of cake.
  •  Foldable arms make this a true throw in your backpack mini quad.
  •  Top plate has groves that encourage use of rubber bands to mount different items, which allow for some play when you crash. (If you ain’t crashing you ain’t flying)
  •  Optional camera mount plate is great since it can be act as a bumper for hard crashes. (Better to break this instead of the whole bottom plate)
  •  Lastly, the DRQ250 is a beauty!

DRQ250 Build:

Parts List:
4 -RCX 1804 2400 kv motors (I recommend using all CW with the use of locknuts instead of 2 CW & 2 CCW     unless you can find locknuts for CCW threads)

4 -F-12A Fire Red series SimonK-(RapidESC)
KK2.0 board (opted for a Flip 1.5 instead)
1000 mAh Turnigy Lipo
5x3 Gemfan props

(Note this a budget build none of that fancy (quality) stuff)

UPDATE: Now using naze32 and EZUHF 4 channel receiver (CPPM)

Smile for the camera

Flip 1.5 it is! Naze32 is next!Found some locknuts with the CCW thread

Will it lift a 2200 mah?

With ease, but rudder lacks responsiveness

Hey I'm pretty new to the hobby, my first build was the electrohub spider. I loved it but it was too big to fly around my small yard. So I just finished building this bad boy....man what a blast to fly! My question is in regards to the naze32 vs flip1.5. I have only used the flip fc, is there a big difference between the two? Seems like a lot of people use the naze but I don't know why, I'm still a noob.

Sorry I'm a little confused. Are you using counter clockwise locknuts on a clockwise threaded motor?

No I found a set of that came with CW and CCW locknuts. Its impossible to use opposite threads they won't work. Sorry for any confusion.

Great video! Would you mind posting your settings (PID, etc) for the Naze32, if you changed them?

Sorry for the late reply. I use the stock settings, work great in calm winds.

This may be a noob question, as Im just getting into building mulit rotors, but why the all CW motors? Im assuming that the motors still operation in 2 CW, 2 CCW. Are you just using all CW with locknuts for simplicity sake?

Thanks,

Still running 2 CW and 2 CCW, the black nuts are locknuts as well and they have CCW threading. But running CW with locknuts is common like on the 2300kv sunnysky motors that are popular on the minis.
