I have these goggles and i have to say the image is just beautifull only when I wanted to go out flying fpv today I couldn't get an image to my goggles. now i have these goggles for quite a while now so warranty is out of the question so being the engineer that I am decided to take them apart only to find out that a chip of the board just desoldered itself for reasons i do not know since i only have them on for about half an hour max each time.
here are some photo's of the guts of the goggles
this is the main board of the goggles.
these are the little OLED displays.
so time to repair my goggles. instead of using a reflow oven I used a heat gun normally used for removing paint. My heat gun has 3 modes: off,300degrees celsius and 500 degrees celsius. I used the 2nd mode (300 degrees for reflowing the main board. first heat up the heat gun and the point it at the board for about 4-5mins. after this let it cool down so when you want to pick it up no components would fall off or burn your fingers.
once it is cooled down I reinstalled the oled displays to the main board and video cable. Time to test the goggles if they work or are really broken.
SUCCES!!! I jumped with joy to see my goggles working again. Mostly so I didn't have to spend any money on another pair. the blue screen I have is because i didn't have a video source connected to the goggles.
thank you for reading my post and keep flying :P
sorry for my bad english as it is not my mother languageX
