After watching the Baby Blender Scratch Build video I've built two of the Baby Blender Bipes, one for me & one for my son, in the last week. Two more on the way, one for my father and another for me just to have a different paint scheme.
"Baby Blender Baby One" maidened last week and with a few clicks to trim her out she's awesome! The set up: 480 960kv motor, 9.5x7.5 prop, 30amp esc, 3s 2200mah battery and an ar600 receiver. At first she seemed a little under powered to me. Guess it's just that I'm use to flying the Carbon Z Yak 54 and other spunky planes. After a few minutes she settled down, rather I settled down, and just started flying her the way she wanted to be flown and having fun to boot. I really over glued, taped, stiffened and painted "Baby Blender Baby One" so figuring I had added about a pound of extra goodies (in reality I only added an extra 5.5oz.) and had, in my mind an underpowered setup and she flew great. What would she be like if I went in the opposite direction and did as little as possible and had her set up per Josh's 4s recommendations?
Well, "Baby Blender Baby Two" was born last night and maidened this morning. The setup: 2826a 1200kv motor, 10x4.7 prop, 25amp esc, 4s 1300mah battery and an ar6210 receiver. Let me say this...she be bad! I maidened her in 10+ mph winds, cause I couldn't wait, and she handled beautifully. She can be flown fast or slow, high or low, she whips and pops, she floats like a feather and can turn on a dime. The winds being 10+ on the second flight she elevator'ed in and sat down on the runway. Nice, that's nice. So, going in the minimal direction I glued just enough, no taping (for support), the extra stiffening I did instead of glue and popsicle sticks was to use 4 thin BBQ wood skewers placed in strategic locations, two as cross braces in the front from the top to the bottom of the wing and two as vertical stiffeners again from top to bottom of the wing. Instead of painting I taped my scheme on her using the blue painters tape. Incredibly light and doesn't look bad. By doing these things, even with the 4s 1300mah battery which is a full 1oz.heavier battery, compared to the 3s 1300mah battery, "Baby Blender Baby Two" weighs in at 5.5oz. less than "Baby Blender Baby One". She is noticeably lighter, both physically and the way she flies. I absolutely love this plane. I can't say that enough.
I just took a phone call from my father who had just watched my videos of today's maiden and the others I posted today. We trade flying videos back and forth since we live so far apart. All the talking in the videos is our way of flying together. Just an fyi if anyone chooses to check em out. So when I answered the phone I said "so whatcha think?": his reply "I've got three words for ya - un bleeping believable!" Haha! My thoughts exactly!

I've never responded to or written a review before this. I am inspired by Josh and the gang here at flitetest and thought it my duty to inform all of you about this plane and to thank flitetest for giving me so damn much fun.
Again, Josh/flitetest, thank you for this, I can't remember having so much fun flying...and to think only $3.00 worth of foam and I'm pretty sure ready to fly, not including receiver, she came in at $47.00. Not bad my friends...not bad.
To everyone else thinking about building this plane...stop thinking and get to it.

Tank you too WizzyWiggs & JB. Technically being my first scratch build it has been fun to come up with those color schemes. I'm looking forward to many more. My son will maiden his today and I can't wait to see how Pa likes his...probably a week or so...
hotrodsts, thank you for the comment and good luck on that maiden. I'd like to see that. Have fun!
