Here is that latest installment of my Swyper Delta wing. This one was created with the idea of being faster, and having the ability of accepting rudder control. I also wanted better tracking, so I increased the vertical stabilization.
As always, built with Dollar Tree foam board, 3M Extreme packing tape and hot glue. I have found, however that on control horns, its good to use some 5 minute epoxy. Hot glue doesn't seem to hold the plastic control horns I'm using, epoxy does the trick.
Flies beautifully, and has a huge flight envelope! I'm using a higher KV motor to get extra speed out of it. With the current setup, it's done really well. The only issue I did have were the batteries. I overpropped the motor when i first flew it. Flew great, motor was cool, but the 1000mah 3s batteries I was using were getting hot fast. I propped it down, and landed on a HK 6x4e prop I had ordered previously. Works great, and didn't sacrifice speed at all.
Motor I used: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18198__Floater_Jet_Replacement_Motor_AXN_2208_2150_.html
CG is between 8-9 inches from the firewall.
This frame is completely swappable with the other small pods. It can be flown slow, and loves it too. This is the plane I throw in my truck when the weather is nice.
As you can see, I did add lights, and that makes this the ultimate park flyer. It will fly in tight spaces with no problem, and floats back in nicely w/o power as well.
Let me know what you think.
Without Rudders.
With Rudders
I'd appreciate if you shared em :D
