Scratchbuild - The Carbon B-1

by Carbon | September 23, 2012 | (7) Posted in Projects

After the failure of the FPV Raptor when weight was added, I decided to create my own aircraft. The result turned out well!

Wingspan: 60"

Dowel booms: 14" long, 11.5" apart
Wing cord: 7" with 24"x 2" control surfaces
Maximum wing thickness: ~1.25"
Wing spar: 3/8" wooden dowel
Tail: 21" x 6"
Elevator: 2"x 11"
Stabilizers: 6" at bottom, 3" at top, 6" tall.
Body is a 2" x2.5" tube, 20" long

the CB-2 is coming up! It will be more portable and have a longer wing span.

Nice clean build of a good simple design. Made me cringe for the camera man during the close flybys! Any other specs to add to the list up there? Be neat to know how heavy it turned out and what batteries you were using. Good luck with your next build!

Well I will be making a second version soon. I will make a build video if I have time, but I will add more specs. I am using a 2200mah battery, but I think I could load it up with a 5000mah 3 cell no problem.
