50kg all up weight QuadRotor

This is my workmate's entry to the HobbyKing 2012 Beerlift competition, it has been entered in the unlimited class.

Specs: 50.25kg all up weight, 30.05kg Beer Payload, 1.34m motor centers.

Built and Tested by Colin Dodge

Flown for the competition by me :P

Hopefully, we added more weight today and it handled that too... quite a bit more weight...

Wow that’s impressive I rated this a few days ago and had to watch it again.
What if you were to times all the specs by 5. You could have a payload of 150Kg. That’s enough for a 12 stone man and 75Kg left over for a chair LOL only joking….. or am I.
How does it fly without the payload?

Haha yea, I think that Colin has some plans for improvements once he can find some spare time.

We ended up upping the payload to 50kg (70kg all up) but that was the absolute maximum for this setup (eventually resulting in a disaster class entry when one of the ESCs made a nice fireball)... An Octo could be the way to go though..... If Colin ends up making something I will post it.

Oh and with regards to flight without the payload, it got destroyed before we could try :(
