The simple solutions are often the best.
Can I suggest maybe using the "4 arm" servo arm to give a bit more security.
I will use you idea with my Mobius mounted on a ply plate.

That is possibly the single best use of the rudder channel on a rudderless fixed wing! Maybe it is even worth trying on a ruddered plane.

You could also compound that servo . Could go all directions now. A great cheap idea.

I mounted my Fat Shark Pilot HD 720p - HD FPV Camera on to the canopy of my RADIAN glider. I used two Go Pro mounting brackets, One bracket bolted to the canopy and the second attached to the first upside down and the camera attached to the adhesive side of the bracket. The transmitter and antenna are held on behind with velcro. Here is my email if you would like a photo. ray300downtown@gmail.com
