3D Printing Motor Mount for TekSumo

I have flown the snot out of my teksumo. I have also hacked it up and used it as an FPV platform. All the flying, and hard landings left me with an increasingly destroyed motor mount.

Lucky for me I have access to a 3D printer, so I decided to try designing and printing a new one.

Basically I took very detailed measurements of what was left of my original mount, then created 2D sketches. Then I used 123D to create the model. From there is goes into Makerware to get processed for the printer.

All things considered I think it turned out pretty well. It seems to be an accurate recreation of the old one.

The holes for the NTM mount even line up!

I have yet to fly it but I think it is going to work out well.

I have posted the files on Thingaverse, if there is anyone out there with a 3D printer who want to try it. I would love the feedback.

I posted additional details and photos here.

Already printed (for a friend), I bet it will hold up just as good as the FT parts I have created and posted on Thingivers...

Nice job.

Awesome! Let me know what you think of the thrust angle.

From what I have been told, this printed mount still hold up, as the original broke in every landing.
The wing flies just fine so I guess the angle is just fine.
