I recently got a chance to attend the 9th Annual Airplanes of the World show. The event was held by Freestate Aeromodelers club in Laurel, MD, USA. They had some cool demos at the event, including some RC jets that were powered by jet turbine engines. These jets were clocked at over 200 miles per hour (321km/h). See video below.
There were 3 jet turbine demos in all. The first was the flight of a Ultralightning. This jet retails for about $4K USD. The jet was flown by Kwang, the owner of Hobby Hangar located in Leesburg, VA, USA. Hobby Hangar also sponsored the event.

The second demo showcased the previous Ultralightning plane and a Navy jet, flown by pilots Andrew and Kurt. The jets were coordinated in their passes to make for a really cool demonstration.
The third demo was scale A-10 Thunderbolt II. It was also flown by Kwang. This was the most expensive of the jets.

My wife asked me if those jets had speakers installed in them to make the turbine noise. I couldn't help, but laugh. I love my wife.
