I'm really sorry for the long wait- a lot of you have been requesting flight footage of the TITAN Y6 and I'm finally getting it posted! This is just a quick video to give you an idea of what the Y6 looks like in the air- as well as to give you a taste of the awesome sound it makes!

Here's the setup I'm flying with:

  • Fortis Airframes TITAN Y6 Frame with 16" carbon fiber booms
  • 6x SunnySky x2212 980kv II motors
  • 6x HobbyKing F30A UBEC ESCs flashed with SimonK
  • Turnigy 11x4.7" slow-fly props
  • 2x 3000mAh 3s Turnigy Nanotech batteries in parallel (6000mAh total)
  • APM2.6 flight controller w/ uBlox 6H GPS
  • Spektrum dx8 radio and AR600 receiver

Here it is with no camera mount, I usually only run one 3000mAh 3s with this setup:

With a GoPro on the Small Camera Mount:

Here is the Large Camera Mount with a Panasonic Lumix and FPV gear:

Sony NEX-3 with FPV gear:

Here is a comparison between the TITAN Tri and the Y6. The Tri has 13" booms and the Y6 has 16" booms:

I've got some really cool footage I'm working on with the Y6 so stay tuned!

Great Y6, I'm glad you're team APM ;). The 11" props are pretty big for the 2212 980kv, but with the co-axial layout, its probably fine.

Thanks! the SunnySkys run the 11x4.7" props beautifully on 3s, I run the same setup on my tri for high endurance runs- they hardly even get warm!

Love this frame. Gonna have to get one, probably a winter project.

Ya my winter project list is getting pretty long... I expected to do a lot of RC stuff this summer but, well, you know how it goes...

This hex look sweet. I really like my Titan tri. Just got in from flying it tonight. Nice video.

This is a beast! At this size does it still have the same indestructible feature as the normal titan tri?

Yep, it's really the same frame with modified motor mounts and much larger landing gear. It's all still break-away designed. But with twice the motors and twice the weight, I wouldn't recommend driving it into the ground too hard ;-)

Hi there, I'm running pretty much the same setup as you (sunnysky 980kv with 2x 3s 3000mah) but in a hex configuration. What kind of flight times do you get with a gopro onboard? I can only seem to get about 8-9mins safely with 2x 3s 3000mah lipos and I'm using a DIY frame that is as light weight as any hex frame for it's size. I'm tempted to go for a Y6 setup as I have heard it's better when descending, but is the flight time much worse?
Thanks in advance
Tom

You should be getting better times than that, I get about 10 minutes when I'm carrying the Sony NEX and full FPV gear, with just a GoPro I'm pushing 20 minutes. My guess is that you need to run a bigger prop, I'm using 11x4.7" slow-fly props which work great on this setup.
