The guys built a giant FT Flyer! So, we thought we'd try to land some quadcopters on it!The Giant FT Flyer was built on the last day of Flite Fest 2014.Alex has equipped his quadcopter with some hoop latch (velcro). The landing pad has the receiving end of the hoop latch (velcro) and the plan is to land the quadcopter on it!Crash Recovery, Dreamwalker, Willsonman, Flying Cirkus, Crafty Dan, EarthSciTeach, and André teamed up to build this a 300% FT Flyer! In the air the large scale FT Flyer almost looks like a normal size foam board airplane.Alex was able to land his multirotor on the wing but couldn't get it to stick!Peter and Dale where also flying their multi-rotors also, attempting to land on the FT Flyer beast.Dale managed to land on the Giant Flyer but the prop wash knocked him off.Dale is flying a QAV 250 with a 600mW ImmersionRC 5.8G transmitter. With his FPV box, Peter did everything he could to land on the giant foam flyer. In the distance you can see the last few pilots still packing up after the 3 day Flite Fest event. The onboard cameras captured some great shots of these multi-rotors landing on the wing. That is a big foam built airplane! Here's a close up of some of the servos and linkages. Packing tape secures the horizontal stabilizer. The challenge turned out to be a success and it was a great way to end an amazing weekend!Alex retrieved his quad from the field and only broke a few props on his crash landing. Thanks again for all of the support that you (the Flite Test community) continue to give!
We want to thank everyone again for an amazing weekend with Flite Fest 2014 and to all the guys who helped in building the Giant FT Flyer! Look forward to seeing more about the Flite Fest event in an upcoming recap video in the weeks ahead!

Great episode, loved it, just like the old days! (Note to Josh, more like this please)
I have watched every video and oh, how I wish I could have been there, but life gets in the way sometimes.
Andre, "Good on ya mate" for making that trip from Montreal. I live a little north of TO but I just could not get find the time to get down there.
I am so looking forward to next year. Maybe we can have an "All Star" Canadian team attend just to show you Yankees how it's done!
Great event guys (and girls) hope to see you all next year. WJ.

I'm so sorry I had to leave early to drive home. (900km.)
Next year I'm sleeping over night on Sunday so I never miss a thing.
Thank you for the experience and huge shout out at the end of the video.
Put a lump in throat. The FT staff and the volunteer crew are an amazing bunch.
If you want to know what FT and Flite Fest are about.
This is it. People who only days before were "nicknames" on a forum bonding together to create something EPIC.
Love this video.

The people make this hobby. Flying by yourself is fun but flying and building with others is exponential fun!
