FT Mighty Mini Twins (Cruiser and Cargo Plane)

by FliteTest | December 2, 2014 | (28) Posted in Reviews

Introducing the newest additional to the FT Mighty Mini family, and this time we have twins! The FT Mini Guinea (Cargo Plane) and the FT Mini Cruiser

These Mighty Minis feature twin motors and can be setup with differential thrust! You can learn more about setting up differential thrust here: http://flitetest.com/articles/ft-cruiser-build

We're excited to introduce these mini twin speed build kits because they are simple a blast to fly!

The FT Mini Cruiser is scaled down from it's big brother The FT Cruiser.

In the air, it's hard to tell which airplane is the large scale and which is the mini!

The FT Mini Guinea cargo plane and the FT Mini Cruiser (cruzr) share all the same fun as their larger counterpart but can be assembled with less foam board material and smaller motors

The FT Mini Guinea features a removable nose and large cargo area and bay door.

The mini cargo plane is a fun airship and with it's large cargo area and removable nose, it's a great platform to experiment on!

The FT Mighty Mini Guinea cargo plane is available as a speed build kit and plans will be available soon if you would like to scratch build your own!

As with all of our laser precision cut speed built kits that we have available in our store, we will also have available free build plans.

Stay tuned for the build videos on these twin minis and thank you for all of your support! We can't wait to see what you do with your FT Mighty Mini Twin!

Probably my favorite episode! Peters VTOL Is completely amazing. Out of all the VTOLs I have, or I have seen, Peter's transition is the best, most flawless out there. He really improved on the X-19 setup.

Cant wait on the plans for the FT Mini Guinea. Or the cargo twins for that matter.

"why aren't they more popular?" - Brother, the FT Cruiser is the most beautiful FT plane - foam-board plane I know....inspired design.
You may be right about the motors - that's why I haven't built one yet, but I will be doing a mini as soon as I get the plans printed :-) Thank you!

Here's the exact same motor, well basically, as the one recommended for like 2/3 of the price.

Do the props spin the same way on both or one CW and one CCW?

FliteGreg on January 18, 2015
They spin in opposite direction: one CW, one CCW. Search for 1804 or 1806 motors near 2300kv, and you'll see that they often come in packs of two or four, CW and CCW mixed together. (DYI, Emax, Turnigy, etc.) Same goes for the gemfan 5x3 props: CW+CCW props bagged together in many colors.

I love the whole mini series of aircraft, I have a small fly area so these are perfect for me. The twins are great. I would like to see a PUSHER TRAINER for some reason I keep making 1 point landings on my spinner.

These all seem to be awesome designs, but who isn't looking for more speed. Since these are both twin engine designs, I think it would be cool if you replaced the props with EDFs. Also, on the Guinea Pig, I think flaps would add a touch of authenticity to the whole factor.
