Bixler 2 motor upgrade

Here is a three part video I made for the Bixler 2 motor upgrade. There are three parts to the video and annotations will direct you to part 1 and 2. I used a motor that is overkill byfar but only because I wanted the weight and reliability of a under amped motor. Here are the parts I used. Enjoy!

Tidy upgrade. Position of ESC seems ideal.

Great video thanks, could i trouble you for how you powered your 6 servos, did you use a separate UBEC from the ESC, if so which one. Thanks.

Great Mods and Videos with a lot of good information. I have a version 1 Bixler and my ESC runs hot here in Florida partially because of the more agressive prop I installed. I'm going to try the same top mounting of the ESC on my Bixler. Thanks for the tips.

Hi guys - is there a current motor in the HK lineup that is a bit tamer than this one ?! I like the NTM series but this 2200Kv seems a bit over powered and the stock motor looks rubbish. My Bixler2 is on its way to Australia and I have already purchased the CNC aluminum motor mount from small CNC parts !

This was a great set of videos. Seems to be very well thought out and the end result seems to be all that you wanted and more...with the exception of the wings flapping, but you mentioned that you were going to add a bit of carbon fiber and I'm sure that will take care of that. I'm interested in getting two of these Bixler 2 planes. One for my wife and I. Should be alot of fun. I like that you put the esc on the outside like that. I can only imagine the temps of the esc on a warm/hot day while being stuck inside that foam. Nicely laid out.
