6-axis 290mm Carbon Fiber Hexacopter Review

This article is my build log and review of a budget mini hexacopter frame from www.goodluckbuy.com.  You can buy this frame on ebay as well.  It uses the same motors for a 250 sized mini quadcopter. There are three videos.  These mini copters are all the rage now, so I wanted to try a hexacopter version.  Check out the videos for an overview and flight.  Part 3 of the video series shows how fast it can accelerate vertically.

The motors and ESCs are from www.banggood.com or www.goodluckbuy.com.  This whole mini hex could be built for under $250, minus batteries and RC controller and FPV gear.

Specs as flown:

  • ZMR 1804-2400kv Motors
  • EMAX Simon Series 12A ESCs (pre-flashed with simonk)
  • KK2 Flight Controller
  • 2200mah battery 25c
  • 5.8ghz Mini video transmitter
  • AUW 640 grams (no GoPro)
